Liam will be Liam forever

A child with a golden heart
Liam, my beautiful son, with blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair, passed away due to an accidental death in our garden. Liam was 13 years and 2 weeks old. He was our family's ray of sunshine. He was authentically himself always, he was always selfless and always wanted to fill others with joy. Liam came to teach us during his 13 years how we should view and live our lives. He was always filled with an infectious joy. We promised Liam that we are going to live out our lives following his philosophy of life. Like Frank Sinatra sang: "I did it my way." He died doing what he loved, being in nature and climbing trees and rocks.
Liam was born on his dad's birthday at 30 weeks weighing 1046g. Unlike his brother he was a thriving preemie. He only had septicemia once, but he had apnea and reflux. After 45 days in NICU Liam came home, tiny-tiny little one, but he could scream, real feisty. Five days later he choked on his reflux milk and it took us 2 minutes in a shopping mall to clear the obstruction. Liam was rushed back to the NICU. MRI scan confirmed a 50 cent piece of brain damage on the frontal lobe. He was going to have memory issues and language problems. They said it might affect his musical understanding as well.
He loved music. He did have issues with short term memory as well as difficulty reading as well. He was diagnosed with ADHD and anxiety at about 6. We went on meds immediately and he had therapy for everything. He was really starting to cope well with school.
His life was falling into place and he was reaching his goals that he set for himself. Then he passed away suddenly. Why? A question to remain forever.
